The module he is talking about is the shifter assy.
The transmission control module is located up behind the heater control panel between the plastic housing and the fire wall accessed from the drivers side footwell but this is not serviceable part.

Yes my bad, it was along time and one car ago, wrong terminology.
It is the shift selector assembly as Clarky says, just remove the shift knob, lift the escutcheon plate off, then it is right there at the bottom of the gear stick.
Straight forward job, hope it fixes the problem, it fixed mine never had the problem repeat.

WELL ! just pulled my shifter apart & its definitely not the same as that video, it is up to where you take the plastic surround off but there is no circuit board there. the only thing I can see is a white box in behind the bottom of the shifter that may have a circuit on it, but not game now.

Its a 2009/2008 build.
I forgot to mention it happens when the brake icons come up in the top middle of the dash & it seems about 80 K's. It will upshift till those brake icons come on & thats it. I can also shift it manually up till that point, once they come on I cant go either way up or down until I stop, switch off & start again.
Maybe its speed related.
You cannot get at the white box at the bottom of the shifter where the wires & plugs go in, you would have to get the shift lever out which looks impossible, my guess is that is where the circuit board is.

Your pictures are completely different to the assembly that was in my car, this is the video I used and it worked a treat.
But as you said, your assembly looks completely different.
Mine was the NAG1 gearbox on a CRD, yours may be a different gearbox, behind a different motor.
The NAG1 from memory was only used on the CRD and the 5.7 Hemi V8.
