I have one of the first, and all the write ups on the8 speed are very good as this box is in a number of quality vehicle types and all good reviews. I tow 2.2t and and best tranny I ever had. Heaps to search on if you want details.
I have a 2013 built MY14 with the 8 speed since new (6 years) not an ounce of trouble. 80K on the clock with approx 1/2 of that towing 2.5T. Have a transmission service recently and the oil was still green and no nasties in the pan.
Great gearbox.
