Cool

Dyno results are in !

Overall a significant improvement in torque + horsepower !

It isn't as responsive to the accelerator input as it was when the PPD Tune 'wasn't' flashed ... but those guys did state their UK based supplier of their tune, files DID actually re-map the throttle response. It appears that ECU West don't ?

The vehicle goes like a scalded cat now ... definitely a noticable improvement to what it was as standard, after I had the Jeep dealer re-flash the ECU with the latest Jeep updated software to fix up the torque convertor lock up issue.

The Dyno results are considerably different to what is posted on the ECU West webpage for this vehicle:

After comparing my Dyno results to the one listed on their webpage, it appears my 'Before' & 'After' torque & Power are higher than theirs ... could this be due to the fact that my DPF was gutted before the initial dyno run ?

How is it possible my vehicle with 193,000 km & completely standard other than the DPF being gutted ... has more Power & Torque than a newer vehicle with 96,000km on the clock + a modified exhaust ?

I'm NOT understanding the big 'dip' in the Power curve ? Driving the car, it has NO shortage of power in the upper rev range & there is NO noticable 'dip' in Power ... but going beyond 4000RPM was a different story. This would kind of concur with the dyno sheet showing a sharp drop off in Power over 3700 RPM. I would assume a better, free flowing 3" exhaust would improve things here ?

I think I will try one of the iDrive throttle controllers to see if that crispens up the throttle response ?

Please feel free to post YOUR dyno results & thoughts on my results !

Been a lot of discussion in here about the iDrive recently. I reckon it's a great device, it's made a massive difference to my acceleration, so much so that I've abandoned any thoughts of remapping.

Most remapping end up with an end torque and power reading similar to original.
This is because at maximum revs, the engine can only burn a certain amount of fuel, in the time it has to burn it. This is called residence time.
So over fueling on the way to maximum revs, can be coped with, it gives extra power by increasing the duty cycle of the injector.
But once you get to maximum revs, putting more fuel in, just puts unburnt fuel down the exhaust tract and increases exhaust temps.
Just my understanding.

iDrive Update !

My iDrive unit arrived today that I purchased off eBay with a 10% discount coupon ... so total cost delivered to my door, of $220.50

Fitting was very simple, just 'plug & play'. I went for a drive & tried a few setting inc U4 & U5. Settled on simply leaving it on Auto. It responds beautifully on this setting & when its pedal to the metal time ... it just hunkers down & powers off !

There is a noticeable difference between the vehicle with the ECU West re-map & DPF delete ... to the standard unmodified performance. The iDrive set to the higher levels of 'Ultimate' with the ECU re-map & DPF delete makes a more than noticable difference ! I have found though, the nicest, smoothest results was from simply leaving it in 'Auto'. Maybe after towing with it I, may find a different setting that works better ... but for now, 'Auto' is where it will be set

Had mine on for several weeks now and also find Auto is the best setting for all conditions as it lets the unit do the 'thinking'. The biggest benefit I've found is instant acceleration on demand, and at low speeds in traffic it still eliminates the lag without being twitchy at the pedal. I love the thing.

Well mate, I hope you'll be as impressed as I've been. It will awaken the inner beast!
