Default First JK wrangler

I am about to purchase my first wrangler, and would like to know where everyone goes to order parts?

My first mods I’m looking at is:
Lift kit
Bull bar
Winch
Tyres

In regards to the lift kit, I will be getting a 4 door, are they drop in or do you need to weld? I’m not sure as some say a bracket needs to be welded in and others say they don’t.

Thanks

Also, can anyone recommend a good quality lift for both on road and off-road? I’ve read the terraflex is great, but looking for other recommendations.

I have bought most of my gear from SBR offroad, the service is great, they ship quick and at a good rate.
I'll second the Teraflex lift too, I have the 2.5 inch with Fox shocks, it rides and corners quite well and flexes great with the sway bars disconnected. No welding is required with it, the track bar relocation bracket just bolts on to the diff.

Yep - can do all of that in your driveway with some fairly basic tools and a lot of sweat. Terraflex lifts are fine - really is going to take some calculating on your part with cost and how you'll use it. Can do a search on the forum and find dozens of pages on the topic. Congrats on your JK!

SBR Off Road are the best for price and service. They are in WA but if you are on the East Coast, you'll get your parts in a matter of a day or so.

I'm with the others, Teraflex for a lift and you can do it in your driveway.

I suggest putting together your own bespoke lift kit and installing it yourself. You don't need much in the way of specialised tools but it helps to have a decent workspace and a spare set of hands to help out. There are heaps of threads about suspension on here and thousands of Youtube videos to help you get started.

I presume your Wrangler is totally unmodified so I suggest your first mods for off-roading should be front sway-bar disconnects if it's not a Rubicon, a steering stabiliser flip bolt or bracket, rear diff cover and you might as well do the front diff cover with the stabiliser flip, rear tow hitch with recovery receiver and a set of Maxtrax.

Get a bull bar with recovery points and while your credit card is out, get some rock sliders or better steps too, especially if you like rock crawling.

Get a suspension lift with your bigger wheels and tyres or at least the right bumpstops so the tyres don't tear off your flares at full compression. A bigger and heavier spare will also need a stronger tailgate hinge or a rear bar with tyre carrier.

Mods that you can do day 1 are better headlight reflectors with bulbs, extended diff breather lines, hood latch replacements and A-pillar driving lights.

I suggest getting a winch last, after a snorkel, bash plates, a rear locker, roof rack, good seat covers and a good head unit.

I get most of my parts from Double Black Offroad, Jeep Konnection and SBR Offroad. They all have been the cheapest at some point with everything that I have needed and I have had great service from them all.

Stay away from JPA/aftermarketjeep.com.au like they have a corona-cough and you forgot your facemask in your other handbag.
