Default After stock 16 inch alloy rims

Hi all.
I have popped in here from the KK forum.I am trying to find a full set of the stock TJ alloy rims.If I am correct the later TJ's came with a 16x7.5" rim with a +25 offset with the 5/114.3 stud pattern that all TJ's have, please correct me if any of this is wrong.I have fitted bigger tyres on my KK and they are too close to my UCA's and need to offset the wheels and these old TJ rims would be a perfect fit.Hoping someone can help.I am in Far Northern NSW on the Tweed Coast.Cheers.

My 2005 Rubicon had factory 16” as delivered from the dealership. I ditched them long ago for 15” because of greater / better tyre selections. Aftermarket 15” like my Centerlines, have the additional offset you are after and will most likely be easier to locate. I found mine a few years back on Gumtree for $400. Unfortunately I gave the 16” away to a friend for a trailer project.

Thanks Fishframe.I did think it was the Rubicon that had the 16"s I am after. As far as 15"s go that is not really an oprion as I just bought new 265/70/16 tyres a week ago which is what has lead me to needing new wheels. Also 15"s are a precariously tight fit on the KK with minimal clearance on the brakes and bottom steering assembly,it has been done but not my cup of tea.Shame you passed on the stock 16"s,thanks anyway.Hope someone still has a set lying around.

Another option is other appropriate ‘load rated’ 5x114.3 wheels from say Ford or Toyota. I don’t want to get into hub centric Vs lug centric debates, but I have run Ford Territories and didn’t experience any problems. Might be worth a thought to get you out of trouble. I did have to dremel out the centre holes a little bit to fit but as stated no issues like death wobble or anything even though lug centric. If it were me, I’d find a suitable cheap set to use until the tyres are worn out and then purchase a good set of 15”. Wayyyyy better in the long run. Just a thought.

Not really keen on 15's to be honest. The fit is just a bit too tight for me.Also it's getting hard enough to find 16's these days let alone 15's since the fad is to go larger rims and lower profile tyres these days which as we all know that use our 4x4's is not a good idea, especially when you air down the tyres offroad.I have had an old Land Rover Discovery that has Range Rover Classic rims on it that were not hub centric and it was fine for years although fitting the wheels was a bit of a bugger without the hub to centre the wheel.

I’m not a KK expert, but on TJ the suspension geometry including correct wheel / combinations, is critical to avoiding death wobble. I’ve experimented and had one death wobble experience so violent it broke my steering damper. Getting that right combination on my Jeep TJ turned out to be very important.

This one of the reasons I am chasing a set of TJ rims so they fit right.Jeep have been nice and consistant with centre bore and stud dimensions so they are the same fitment as the KK.Also Cherokee XJ rims will suit so I might hit that forum up as well.Cheers
