Just thinking out aloud, but also maybe the door actuator - operating fine to lock, but not unlock? Sticking?
pretty sure its the contactors, was able to pull them apart manually bridge them and they worked fine

Found it here, right at the bottom of the page: http://www.wjjeeps.com/sentry.htm

If the battery is dodgy or the contacts corroded, it could be losing sync.

With things like this, I often give them a good clean with an electronics spray (ones you use on a computer circuit board ect...), get it from Jaycar or similar electronics place. Quite often works wonders. You can flood it with/the spray and it won’t hurt anything. https://www.jaycar.com.au/electronic...y-can/p/NA1008

I have had the same issue. And when I bought the car, range was about 2 feet from car. Following helped range a lot:

1. Antenna wire installation to co-drivers door unit.
2. Two 2016 batteries instead of one 2032.

With those mods I got about 20-30 feet range depending of which side of vehicle I am. But still had occasionally issues that unlock just did not work. Then did these:

1. Clean all contacts inside remote with cotton stick and IPA cleaner.
2. Small copper wires tinned to small contacts below battery so that they go from one contact to another making a ”grid” under battery to help it make contact all the time.

After those I have now had allmost two weeks of ”trouble free” use, unlocking every time. I guess the issue was fob losing sync due to poor battery contact.
