I've got a plan, some might not approve of it, of installing LED projectors, which come factory in 2018-onwards Toyotas and other Jap cars....
1. The pattern is OEM (d'uh)
2. They also offer high-beam
3. Installing them in place of the high-beam would mean keeping the factory low-beam as the law here mandates using the low-beam at all times. Factory low-beam = I can be under the radar around the city, where police is most likely to watch for illegal modifications
4. Keep the factory level adjustment to avoid glare if the car is loaded.
I HATE glare, so with that in mind, I will adjust and install them accordingly.
The projectors are ordered, reviews are excellent (on-par with RX350 HID projectors, which are the benchmark)
As for projectors LHD to RHD change:
I eventually did change the projector plates in my MX5 halogen projectors and they work perfectly. Same can be done on any HID projector to obtain a correct pattern for RHD. One could install MX5 projectors in the WJ headlights to keep the bulb tech as factory, from the outside the light looks awfully similar at night. They use 9006 bults too.
Legality...
Our police force is also ******** about modifications modifications, however, thinking that "out of sight is out of mind", some OEM-like modifications should keep you out of sight, ie halogen projectors, hid with low color temperature (4300k). Aftermarket headlights are too bling and scream "pull me over", in my opinion.
I also think that if you are stopped for another reason and the inspector is out to give you a hard time, the headlights will be a low hanging fruit.
I am not responsible if you add projectors and the police gives you a fine
