It's most likely due to the o-ring on the plastic fuel lines; they are prevalent failure points. There are 6 in total; I'd be inclined to replace them all. It's a crappy job removing those clips BTW. I'd pay someone to do the job.

I'd There are two rubber fuel lines to the filter, the larger is supply, the smaller is the return. There's also a rubber hose going to the fuel pressure regulator, and it connects the fuel return hoses not he tops of the injectors to the pressure regulator.

Given its age, it may be time to replace some of these hoses.

All the clamps you can see have been tightened - some were leaking.
The hose running across the top connects down near rail at No 5 - it then joins on a pipe running beside the fuel line and down the fire wall - were does this go because i think that is what is leaking down low

That's not standard as the filter is different. Just had a look at mine the hose from the back of the rail is fuel return. It normally goes to the filter and the other side of a valve connects it back to the fuel return line.

Some of these hose clamps are too big for that size hose, I'd suggest you buy some smaller correctly sized clamps as this will help fix any leak issues.

This is what mine looks like.

Fuel return line - that makes sense. It is leaking from below, not up near the filter - as I said in my original post this guy doing a filter change decided to change the set up with a different filter.
Thanks for the info - cheers
