In what i was saying i was not including the varilok as a locker simply because it isnt a hard mechanical on/off style lockup. I would think the varilok would be better anyway because of its more progressive lockup giving an small amount of "give" in the system before total lockup, something that the lunchbox/aussie/lockright type does not.
Straubz in moding the variloks whats involved ,can you throw a bit more light on that for us please.

See this thread, if you combine the methods on page 1 and 2 you would have a pretty good offroad setup, but would be bad on really sharp turns like car parks.

Straubz, thanks for that link. Dont suppose you know of anyone first hand who has done these mods? The double reed might be the way to go first.? I still need to find a varilok for the rear of my2.7 crd. Off topic but how did you go with your pitman arm ball joint maxing out?

everyone i know has got ARBs, i found out about the vari lock tricks from someone posting on this forum tho.

trying to figure the pitman arm issue at the moment, trying to avoid doing an OTK with track bar drop as i don't want to move the roll center down, thinking of putting some slight bends in the drag link ends so the ball joints sit at the correct angle.
