Also got a hikeit x9 on mine,, While there is still turbo/torque converter lag off the mark it is much better. Mines is either in sport 5 or cruise 8 modes around town. Traction control cuts in quite a lot more in the top mode so i dont use it around town. Hikeits were on sale when i got mine but they do seem to have more features and the anti theft code seems a good idea along with the ability to change faceplates.

Good point, throttle controllers don’t cure turbo lag as that is a totally different issue.
Unlike some cars I've driven in the past I've never felt turbo lag in my wk2. Drive a Saab 9-3 diesel and you quickly find out what turbo lag is really like!
Anyway, yes turbo lag is indeed a different thing to (electronic) throttle lag and won't be affected by throttle controllers.
