Do you recall if you did it from the top, or reach in from underneath (turbo/oil filter area)
I’ve read that some people have had luck with ratcheting spanners.

Pretty sure it was the top. As I said I've attempted to block it out of my mind. If I keep the car for a few more years, and that's likely, I'll probably have the need to attend to it again.......... sigh.

As always the Search function on this forum is your friend, everyone should know how to use it, as us old guys will not always be around.

Yes the bolts can be removed, and it's not that hard, if you know what to do. I suggest you read this old thread:

From when I did mine. Specifically, read post number 6, which explains the bolt removal. Thanks, as always, to long serving member, cmohr who provided the original advice.
