My understanding is that in 2000 there were something like four different exhaust variations around the World for TJs. Maybe they were scared of Y2K bug? This from the internet of all things Jeep -
The 2000 TJ was a split year. The earlier ones had the older style exhaust system which had no pre-cats in the downpipes, and then one single cat under the vehicle.
The later model 2000s had the two pre-cats in the downpipes and another third cat under the vehicle.
The earlier models had two O2 sensors I believe, while the later model had four O2 sensors.
