The height of the glass is set when you put it in. There are 4 screws that hold it in place. You are meant to hold the front side 1mm below the roofline then tighten the screws. Then hold the rear of the glass 1mm above the roof then tighten the rear screws.

I have found that I can't tighten the screws too much otherwise the slider doesn't work properly and the roof catches.

The insulation was just from a local place I found on MarketPlace.

I went with the smaller pre-cut pieces rather than a roll. Made it much easier to put in and mold to the shape of the roof. Then just used metal high speed tape to finish it off. It has come up well and made a huge difference to the heat and noise coming through. Front speakers also sound much better now too. It has worked so well that I will do the rear doors and back of the car too soon.

Pulling the sunroof was much easier than I was expecting. A pain to get the liner out of the car as it is so wide, but it worked. I would recommend leaving the B pillar trim in (where the front seat belts go). Made it much easier to put the liner back in as I just clipped it up over the trim, and the trim held it up perfectly.

Good to see you guys bouncing ideas off each other.
Hope it all works out. RTB, your GC is slowly getting there. Took me 10 years to get my XJ into the condition i wanted it, so keep going with yours.

I do know that a fresh battery helps heaps. I just bought one for the WH GC and it came in at around $300. You can't diagnose anything until you have a new high powered battery installed.

Keep up the good work guys...

Cheers,

I got 24 sheets. Have done both front doors and the roof. I think it was 8 sheets for the roof, and 4 for each door so far.

I will need to get more to do the rest of the back. Planning on the rear doors as well as the wheel well, cargo area floor under the carpet, side panels, and rear lift door.

Thought I give a quick update. I have changed the battery about 2 weeks ago.
I had one more time the P0700 and sub-sequentially the P2602 code. However, after clearing, it did not come back as of now. I did not drive it since I am currently fixing my leaking sunroof bot even driving in and out of the garage was enough for the error codes to show up. So I guess the battery was not good enough anymore. Now I have at least a brand new installed. Does not fit 100% since has slightly different measures, but good enough.

What did you find as the cause of the sunroof leak?
