Default 2014 v 2019 gc diesel

Looked at upgrading from a 2014 to a 2019 gc, they are alot of car for the money .
Did a trip up to Karajini gorges in the Pilbara last year with some friends who were driving a 200 series landcruiser .
My Jeep ran perfectly- my mates landcruiser blew a belt tensioner pulley and belt
80km out of Parabadoo - Jeep to the rescue !!!
As mentioned, the diesels are basically a very good motor - as long as it is serviced properly and the owner knows how to open a bonnet and check the fluids regularly.
The 2019s i looked at, all had tired looking coolant, dirty oil and the dealers excuse “oh, it hasnt been through the wirkshop” which i found strange as they had all been detailed. Trying to save money!!
Only differences between the 2014 and the 2019 was the radio unit, adaptive cruise control and the gear shifter.
Also noticed the 2019 must have full electronic steering as no power steering
master cylinder. Dont drive any better than the 2014 as far as i could feel.

Same car with a few more bells and whistles, the diesel got a few minor changes too I think in 2019, and it was the last year the diesel was available in the JGC. The changes were mainly for the continuation in the RAM.

They would have to drive much the same as nothing really changed underneath...same air bags, same wheel size & tyres etc...

The key is maintenance...regular fresh oil and filter, regular coolant changes etc.

Can't recall the year but maybe after 2017 they went from hydraulic/electric to full electric steering.

Things like belt tensioners is a basic fail often after a belt change when they have a good few miles up.
