I had a WJ 2.7 for six years. Did a lot of work myself, but in the end the electric gremlins pushed me over the edge. While you might sort out the mechanical issues, a CRD is a nightmare if things go wrong and you can't do the major work yourself.

That leaves the electrical issues, and unless you are very lucky (and some owners are) they will bite you on the arse big time.

Got rid of mine and bought a very nice Series 80 Landcruiser. While I really liked the WJ and found it very comfortable around town and very capable off road (twin locked) the 80 really is a couple of pegs above, it's just effortless.

Good luck with your decision.

I usually consider these three things:
- age (after 4 years, your car will already lose half of its value)
- mileage (60,000 or 70,000 km is a good choice. Therefore, you will avoid paying the costs associated with the wear and tear of the car, such as replacing the clutch, shock absorbers, or timing belt)
- season (it is better to sell your car before the summer holidays, such as in the spring, because, in autumn and winter, it is difficult for potential buyers to make such a purchase when they are in a period that favors both holiday spending and tax spending).
I can also suggest checking the info on when is the right time to sell your car here https://hdbv5.com/when-is-the-right-...sell-your-car/ maybe it will be useful for someone else.

60,000 or 70,000km?! Most WG's are into the 200,000's or 300,000's by now. Some the 400,000's. I've not heard of many in the 500,000's so I figure the life is around 500,000.

Mine is approaching 350,000km. It was just over 220,000 when I bought it.

Search through here and you will see I have put a ton of work into it. Most repairs have been posted about. I've had it for over 6 years now and still love (and hate) it.

With hindsight, I would probably do it again. The nearest competitor in my mind is the Perentie, but the WG is infinitely better on the road.
