Hmmm, Maxxis have been an option, cheers Jeepers for your insight.

I once thought similar about having a set of tyres for bush work but at the time I went bush regularly, a 20 min drive and the front diff was locked in and the thought of changing wheels often put some reality into the thought, so it didn't happen, besides in the 70's I was shown how to actually drive a 4x4 by a fella who went to the same driving school as Len Beadel and Jack Absalom, he showed me that the best tyre for rock climbing was actually a highway pattern, correct pressure and good throttle control he could out climb the rest of us fitted with the latest chunky 4x4 rubber and while we chucked rocks everywhere his tyres just rolled over them and never stopped or needed a slingshot or winch, he did the deserts and all sorts of country, just mud and wet grass slowed him down and then we would only get about 10yds more than him .... I found the best rock and mud tyre to be bar tread, left all the fancy ones behind, biggest downer with them is that they will kill you quickly on the sealed road in the wet, sliding sideways down the pavement in an F4 Inter really gets the heart going, absolutely terrifying as many soldiers would agree ..................
A good medium aggressive ATR will get you everywhere, safely and with little effort or damage, done enough of it to test out the claims of various tyres over the last 50 years and often never had to buy them myself .................
