Would have to switch out of auto to get the lights to come on and select HB, sounds more like the sparky didn't really want the job... I don't really know if on these things if they have a HB fuse that you could piggy back, haven't bothered with driving lights on this rig, no need but on my WG I think I piggy backed off the board.....

You're making it look easy, maybe I should do this myself! Hours of fiddling around under the hood, buying new tools, cursing my eyesight, fat fingers and panel fastners!
Nah, I'll tell someone what to do an pay 'em, and have a couple of beers while they do it!
Mind you if I get another knock back it may be a different story.

Used to do it all the time often just used those never recommended clamp joiners, run wire to switch on dash and back to relay, sometimes I would not fit a switch ... On these things the best way to get into the cabin is vbia the passenger side near the air blower, really easy access and grommet.

Thanks for the info mate, I know it is an old post, hope you are still on here. Would you be able to explain where this infamous plug is located and how best to access it/the wire? It is rather tight behind the RH headlight, so any pointers would be greatly appreciated!!!
