Transfer case Q?
I think I asked this a fer months ago, but I didn't get any replies. the Transfer case in the XJ/KJ, are they the same, and can you put one in a TJ (will they fit without too much drama)
I'm thinking that it would be better for on dirt roads, and on bitumen in the wet if a TJ had Full Time, as well as part time.
Reasons:
1. not sure how "command trac" differs from any other generic Part time case which has both Ds's rotate at the same speed when in 4H/4L
2 there's got to be an advantage in having both driveshafts able to rotate at different speeds around corners under power in slippery situations (dirt, shallow sand, wet roads, wet grass etc)
3. any sharp turns such as avoiding Roos could bugger up the case/either driveshaft/diffs if it was in Part time.
