Default Towbar for TJ - 900 Kg rating ...WTF???

I have the 'narrow neck' hayman reese style - my ARB strap fits fine but not all other brands... as I found out at Willowglen after offering to pull another spectator our of a muddy situation. Anyway a couple of tow hooks bolted to each side fixed the problem.

The smaller neck one matches the one of the subaru so swapping bike carriers etc is easy.

"Is this as good as it gets?"

OK here's the deal with a towbar for the TJ wrangler, according to the suppliers (ARB) the original designed towbar (Still on thier list might I add) is no longer being produced as it was over-rated (too strong) for the TJ, as such they now produce a much >smaller< bar.

But wait there's more - not only is it smaller, but it now features a bolt on tounge. Sort of defeats the purpose when it comes to using the "Square Hitch" reciever as a recovery port.

Falling off my now, just ing

I have a Hayman Reece bar for TJ that I'm thinking of selling. E-mail me Laz to discuss if you are interested. Cheers, Mark

So ARB bar is a real Hayman Reese? Of course what you really want is a replacement rear bar with integrated hitch, swing away carrier for your 35 tyres, and a minor win in tattslotto ;)
