Default TJ hard top - rear seal

The rear window on my 2004 hard top regularly pops open slightly off the seal on the passenger side from the increased cabin air pressure occasioned by the closing of the front doors.

I have a 33inch tyre on the back but it doesn't seem to be weighing the tailgate down at all so as to weaken the strength of the window closure.

This is my first hard top. I am curious as to whether anybody else has experienced this or if the window generally shuts tight and stays that way?

Thanks,

Clay

I have to slam my doors twice to shut them as the air pressure is so great.
Passangers never get it right, and normally I wait for them to shut theirs first, or I leave my window down a couple of CMs if it is convenient.

I am sure my back window moves with the pressure, but it does return to the normal sealed position. I only have a 31 inch on the back.

A hard top is such a luxury around here with everyone else having plastic and velcro to contend with, that I don't think it is something to complain too loudly about...

Yea the Hard top would be a bit of a luxury, at least you can wind the window down on the highway without it getting sucked out

I don't have that problem either - but I'm using the soft door uppers - so maybe that absorbs some of the air pressure - although it does bloody seal well becuase like said above you gotta give it a good swing to get it to close properly
