258 EFI anyone?
OK Im in the middle of some (too many) projects right now one of which is a head gasket and reco for the old CJ Hearse.
I also have an XJ project and an MJ project in various stages of dismantlement.
With the head off and the various parts lying around I get this silly idea to try fitting a 2000 4.0 intake and extractors to the rebuilt 258 head, initally planning on plugging the extra holes adding an adaptor plate and re-fitting either the carter or a holley.
OR 4.0 throttle body and running straight LPG.
Then the next silly thought takes hold and Im looking into the guts of an XJ thinking "What if I just add the rest of the EFI and make that work??"
I know the easier answer would be to plonk on a complete 4.0 head but the 258 is virtually new- valves, springs grind etc, bigger valves, hardened seats etc, about $1000 worth of rebuild, and I have that flash new cast alloy cover too.
I know I'll need a new ECU, and some sensors to add on , but what exactly and where do I get it?
