Unhappy "The Shovel"

Ok.. now I know why the transfer case guard on Wranglers has earned its name "The Shovel".

Maybe its because of my stock lift (until next week) but the guard aint too far off the ground and the times I have been bogged so far it has caused me a heap of grief digging it out. It likes to carry a few kilos of sand/mud around with it afterwards which takes a bit of hosing out and leaves my driveway looking like a set from Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Can anyone recommend a solution? Will it be a lot less troublesome after the (2") lift or is there an aftermarket guard someone can recommend?

Cheers

Mine's raised 2.5" thanks to Rancho and the 'shovel' is a PITA. Catches on everything. Next step is to install an SYE and a higher clearance skid plate. Oh and 33's, lokka, a body lift.......

You'll be amazed how much of an improvement you get even with a measly 2" lift.
