Default Diff oil on passenger chassis rail...?

Hey guys well i changed the oil in my rear XJ diff a little while ago.. but were the breather goes up into the chassis rail is soaked in oil. and all the way down the side to near were the t-case skid plate bolts up. there is a couple holes on the under side of the rail and if i stick my finger in it and feel around i can touch oil.. whats going on? if my diff breather or vent leaking alot of oil? or is the line cut or sumthing.. just annoys me lol having to clean it..

cheers

Did you change your rear brake line? did you overfill the diff? The first may sound odd but both of these will cause what you're seeing.

Cheers
Steve

hmm thats what i thought.. but i measured 1.5L as per Gojeeps site and it filled to about 5mm under the filler plug on the cover..

no steve.. i havnt touched the brake lines or any line under the car. but the rubber hose whichgoes into the side of the rail above the diff feels as if its just sitting in the hole and not actually clamped onto anything,

cheers

Look on my site and you will see a write up on how to cure that like the dealers do. You just need to trim a bit off the bottom of the breather that screws into the axle tube. Either that or drain oil like I mentioned until 1/2" under the fill plug.
