..Hi Maxy! Firstly! Instructions..11/10 for the way ARB have done the instructions both text and b&w pix..Covers the fitting well but,I suggest you either put the rig on the entry end of a hoist set at about 1.25me or park it rear end up on a set of hvy duty portable ramps. My lite duty ramps,I welded a couple of vertical struts at point of weight area jus to be safe. The way I see it,your rig height will have no effect at all..Now,the bad news.Best to have a Weet-Bix eating helper at times of lifting.Bar,with lots of bits bolted on to it (by you) will have to be fitted, two holes in the centre area, marked for drilling (Get yourself a cheap scribe for accuracy.Or make one) then removed, centre pop, drill 1/8"pilot holes, drill holes 13mm or 1/2" wobbled around a bit, refit the bar.The black backing plate which goes behind the rear cross-member,my suggestion is,drill a 1/8" hole at the near top area in the centre to attatch a 500mm length of thin tie wire, not string. This is for when you drop it into the "black hole".Retrieve.I had a terrible time to get it to go in there. After an hour of so (tried removing fuel tank to gain entry.Nope!) of not being able to get it to go behind the cross-member,I managed to slide it in from under the bar from the starboard/right side using the afore-mentioned,pull/retrieve wire.Yes,you will have to fit some vertical m12 x p1.75 bolts to the supplied plates with welded tags which you bend,to assist fitting in chassis rail.As long as you don't tie yourself to a time frame, you will be ok.
Just plod along and the great instructions will work for you.Keep a sharp eye out for the "packer" washer, thin, that is part of the hinge assy.Mine never showed up.Make sure all ARB plastic packets are completely empty.Use empty "ice-cream"containers (color optional Helps? RockyOne

Thanks, I thought they might have some extra bolts go into that rear crossmember too. I made my own fugly fab rear tyre carrier but it wobbles that much it is only good for putting a dancing rubber elvis on top of.

Is the ARB carrier nice and sturdy (no wobbles)

.......Maxy! The two units comprising the total wheel carrier and rear bar assy are bullet proof..Rock solid at the important side pivot area, while the engineering of the latch is seemingly,a tad complicated until assembley is completed. At this point, the reasons for the style of latching and bump stop mechanics become apparent.Rather like the potentially problematic latching mechanisims on airplane cargo doors, together with the disasters they can cause on non-schedueled opening,ARB have,no doubt engineered the unit to ensure that, even years down the track, when some wear may have occured, gas strut pre-loaded spare wheel carriers don't suddendly swing open in city traffic or on the trail.(Have some good grease handy for assembley)
