With the release of the JK Wrangler in the USA, lots of companies are developing kits to mod your new Wrangler. With them arriving on shortly.
Some options include, Terrflex, Full Traction and Skyjacker. With the new body design of the JK fitting massive 35" rubber may well be as easy as adding a 2.5" lift.
The Economy 3" Full Traction Lift is the simple and inexpensive way to clear larger tires (up to 35x12.50*)
Even Bushwacker who are known for the TJ, XJ and CJ flares have started having a go at the new JK with some decent results.
2007 Jeep Wrangler Bushwacker Pocket-Style Fender Flares Bushwacker brings it with their all-new Pocket Flare for the 2007 Wrangler. The Bushwacker fender flares offer the bold look of deep cut pockets and exposed bolt heads, giving your Wrangler an even tougher appearance.
For those of you who’ve been waiting with great anticipation for the release of the new Kilby Enterprises 2007 Jeep JK Wrangler TrailBoss front bumper, I am happy to announce that it is finally here. Below is the official press release that Kilby Enterprises has provided for it:
Burbank, CA - Kilby Enterprises is proud to announce the release of their new TrailBoss Winch Bumper for 2007 Jeep® Wranglers (JK) (Model # JK47F). Looking to gain ground clearance and strength on your new Wrangler? The new Trail Boss Winch Bumper does both. Made from 3/16″ thick HRPO steel, the TrailBoss is ready for the rocks! Get rid of that plastic stock bumper and get something truly useful on the trail that will stand up to the heaviest abuse.
By removing the oversized stock bumper and plastic lower cladding, the TrailBoss gains you 2.5″ of ground clearance up front, allowing for a better approach angle. In addition, the 47″ wide bumper gains clearance under the fenders for your tires to get better grip on obstacles and gives the Jeep a more aggressive look.
The bumper includes an integrated winch tray, which positions the winch very low inside the bumper, resulting in very little grille interference. Inside the bumper is an internal roller, used to guide the winch line properly out the front. A Hawse fairlead is recommended, though a roller fairlead can be used. Also included are two 1″ thick clevis mounts for mounting shackles (sold separately).
Below the bumper, two optional bolt-on skid plates are available. Model JK47F-SP1 gives under-side protection for owners not wanting to modify their Jeeps. Model JK47F-SP2 requires the lower crossmember to be removed, but gains more ground clearance underneath. Both skid plates include end covers for a finished appearance.
Or why not go the full hog straight off the bat. Looking for a serious boost in the performance in your Jeep JK Wrangler’s engine? Well, I just talked to the guys over at Avenger Supercharger and was told that they are currently in the in the process of prototyping the first supercharger for the 3.8L. And, I’m told that they expect to have a prototype finished in the next few weeks and will debut it on their project vehicle this October 31st at the 2006 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Now, if you’re going to be attending SEMA this year, you can find the Avenger Supercharger JK at the Ramsey Winch booth (#31427). Some of the mods you can expect to see on it are Poison Spyder front and rear Tube Fenders, Poison Spyder Rock Sliders, M.O.R.E front and rear bumpers, a Superlift 4″ Lift, KMC Wheels with 37″ tires and a custom paint job similar the one you see in the rendering to the left.
With so many options available, getting these rigs onto the Australian roads and modifying them is going to be somewhat of a easy task, with no waiting for R&D departments to come up with accessories 12 mths after you buy the vehicle.
