Another motorcyclist was killed yesterday heading down the Mountains with his mate doing an estimated speed of around 150kph. Too fast for the bend, skid marks for around 30 metres, the bike (most of it) landed 80 metres from the initial point of impact with a steel sign up on a large dirt embankment, the rest (front forks, handlebars and wheel) came to rest in the lower part of a small tree some distance later.

Its no joke - this shit happens all the time. If i thought it was eliminating the members of the shallow end of the gene pool i wouldnt worry so much. But it just keeps on happening !!! If you ride a bike, please be careful.

And dont get me started on P platers ..........

Merry Christmas

I agree. Up here Mt Nebo / Glorious is exactly the same. Swarms of Bikers head up there every Sat / Sun, forllowed by the sounds of an Ambulance or 2.
They just dont report it that much. I've heard alot of people have moved out of Mt Nebo / Glorious over the past few years as they fear for their safety.

Very sad indeed.

G'day all,I have ridden bikes for 29 yrs, owned 32,have 06' R1 now, have raced and for a few years was a motorcycle instructor until the Q-ride system came in.Front page local newspaper 12 months after Q-RIDE was introduced an increase of 82% in motorcycle fatalities in QLD in previous 12 months. It is obvious to me that the shocking increase had to be attributed to Q-RIDE.To those not familiar this system allows anyone that has held an open car licence for a continual period of 3yrs to obtain a learners 1 day then aattend a Q-RIDE course the next, which normally consists of 6-8 hrs, half theory, half practical. Then they can buy any of the missiles on offer including 9.2 sec 1/4 mile,320 km/h machines for less than $20 000.NOTHING BEATS EXPERIENCE.It was said earlier not advertised for politcal reasons the number of deaths in QLD.I believe this to be because the government are waiting for us to build up a case against ourselves by being a burden on the hospital system ETC. Just my thoughts, time will tell.Fellow motorcyclists take care and please get some extra 1 on 1 intruction if you dont feel confident.Cheers.

The photos are crap. The force from an impact like that would turn most of the bike into dust and cut the car in half.
It's a tasteless stunt.
