Default Diesel Tips

We are getting the diesel Commander. I've never owned a diesel before. Any tips on care and maintenance would be greatly appreciated? How easy are they to service yourself? Any good guides out there?

Thanks

Our commander is our first diesel as well. Things look pretty straight forward though. Just got it up to 21000kms. The service intervals are 20000kms apart, but I would definitely suggest you get the oil and filter changed every 10000kms anyway, and check the air filter (this is all the 20000km service is anyway). Service cost me $224. The only thing the mechanic suggested was to put some diesel conditioner in when filling up - apparently there are some diesel quality issues in Canberra at the moment.
For the first couple of months we had the car, we had to make sure we were getting the ultra low sulphur diesel, as not all service stations had it, but my understanding is that they all have it as standard now (at least Caltex and BP do).
ARB sent me a letter last week saying that snorkel and bullbar should be available in a couple of months (be interesting to see if this is a real couple of months or not)
