Default Rear Leaves

I want to simply confirm something I heard the other day.

I was looking at another XJ which has 5 leaf rear springs and a factory jeep towbar. My car has a hayman reese branded towbar and 4 leaf rear springs. Someone I was talking to said that cars that didnt come from the dealer with the towing pack have softer springs. Is that true?

The reason I ask is that the 1 extra spring is salvageable in the leaf packs whereas the rest are bent, so Im thinking of ripping it out and putting it into my leaf pack to attempt to address the sag.

Alternatively, anyone in Adelaide had their rear springs redone. I heard that theres a place on Port Road that does them. I suspect mine have been done before because theres writing on them, but that could be for any reason as I also think my cars had more hits than the beatles in its life.

Some insight would be good because I finally fitted the coil spacers in the front (and with alot of grunting, got the springs back in) and yeh now it looks stupid because the front is up and the ass is down.

Anyway, have a good weekend all.

Steve
