I have not had a problem now since the Vent valve was removed and cleaned - I have not tried a truck hi flow pump I Just use the ordinary diesel pump at my local BP and it fills as fast as any other car first time every time.

At risk of being branded a stooge again - there is no way i am going to remove my filler and replace it with a rubber hose that it is a marginal fit at both ends just to use the fast truck pumps at the servo. If the modified hose leaks then i imagine your insurance co. will not be keen to pay out if it burns. And while the long range tank is great if you need it and can afford to put $200.00+ at a time into the tank, if you don't need the range then its not really an answer is it. Yes the filler neck and pipe are small, but with the valve cleaned properly it all works a treat.

It's just my opinion - but if you have paid nearly $50k for your vehicle why should you need to replace hoses or tanks at your expense, my experience and that of others no doubt after having the valve cleaned PROPERLY is that it all works as it should, if you have one that does not keep taking it back untill they get it right.

I agree with you jbee ,I just want to be able to pull up at a normal diesel pump & fill up .My biggest problem is getting someone from CJ in QLD to admit there is a problem & stop telling me that no one else is having any trouble fueling up .

well blokes. i'mm in perth and i have had the valve thing done by the chrysler state service manager no less, the head service bloke from the chrysler corp who is the epert on thses things. it lasted one tank fill. as longy has said it is common for this thing to only work once. and the dealers in perth all said that it was pretty much a waste of time. now however suddenly like some of you over there the attitude is that the problem doesn't exist. appears they want to bury the problem. but there is a problem, chrysler can't get a real permanent fix, and changing the fuel filler hose, fixes the problem for those of us (most of us) for whom the valve cleaning hasn't worked. we can spend 20 bucks, fix the problem and get on with our lives. in my case i want a long range tank and so i can solve two things at once.

Guys my 20 buck hose replacement works, as for worrying about leaks, if you look at the lip on the tank end its is impossible to leak if you tension the clamp appropriately.

I also used there clamps !!! so it is the correct size

I always fill up at the same United fuel station, strangely enough the last two times I have filled up there it has worked 100% no clicking off at all. Weird..
