Back in 1973 we were using a Commodore Pet (8kb of RAM) programmed in Basic to run an automated assembly jig for assembling small switch units to tight tolerances.

Back in 73, I wasn't even thought of.....I do remember having on of the later C64's....I only used it once coz the tapes took an age to load and I was a typical kid - impatient!

Awesome - I remember that ad too.
Here's scary - my first job in a engineering design office, we were running a floppy boot XT for our database and design calcs, and I brought my own C64 with Daisy-wheel printer into the office to do my calcs and letters on. I remember having to retype numerous reports when the machine crashed for no apparent reason (hey - a bit like Windows).

I just love that second verse, where they take it up an octive or 2!, gold just gold, really makes me pat myself on the back for getting this 5.1 ch surround sound system on my pc, makes that song just so deep and intense!
