Rolli but i dont think Jeep will repair it under warranty if it is burnt to the ground .......or could you say it was faulty wiring that burnt it down

I actually rang up Qld Transport last week to check on the legalities, funnily enough they know when people ask this that their vehicle is a Jeep! It is illegal, the moment the Jeep is on a formed road, it must have the doors on for crash reasons. The doors need to be on for an effective crumple zone. Doors off are only allowed off-road. This is based on Qld law anyhow, i'm yet to take my doors off.

..Must admit...have driven without doors... CJ7... and a TJ..and never been pinged... but I drove like a saint at the time. Readily available half doors...while not quite the same thing... would make life a little easier. Driven with the windscreen down too...with no major issues...but sunglasses are a must at reasonable (or not so)... road speeds. That's unless you want to wear a full face helmet...and then I'm sure you'll be talking to the highway patrol at the roadside.

be careful driving with the windscreen down, other than just dangerous you will get done by a cop for sure. Unless ofcourse you are offroad.

Hey De-lux,
I was refering to driving with the windscreen down not the doors off. Just thinking of a bird or a stone flying up and if no windscreen it could potentially get lodged in your head, which i reckon would kinda suck

..Very true. It's not really practical at road speeds anyway. The time I did do it... was only for about 10-15 km ...and the novelty wore off. Off road..it's great though... As for the doors off... that's just magic.. but unlike the magical video on the U.S. Jeep website... my doors never vanished into thin air when I took them off... had to store them in the garage.. or under a tarp if I was out scrub.
