Thanks for the compliments & feedback folks. As Pipeliner says the attachment does contravene ADR 6 but as CMOHR suggested maybe some supplementary lights will be in order.
Lancer, the back seats are fairly easy to get out, just a bit fiddly where the seat belt buckles attach. They are also heavier than they look. Make sure you put the mounting bolts back in after you get the seats out to stop dust/water entering the cabin. This was the first thing I did to the KJ as I didn't like the way the seats folded away leaving an unleveled deck. It makes packing that much easier and of course there is the stowage room under the new deck as well. The pics give an indication of how I mounted the front support to the front seat brackets. (Pipeliner, if that contravenes another ADR I don't want to know! LOL)
Cheers

Well Im sure that ADRs are a wonderful thing and the govt has hired experts to formulate them but ..............

Two cars heading North on a dual carriageway:

Car 1 in L.H. Lane and 2m behind

Car 2 in R.H. Lane which is about to turn right.

Does driver of Car 1 really care about the the righthand indicators visibility of Car 2 or even whether Car 2 turns right.

Next time you're all in traffic - check out the angles you need to be at to justify the blocked light ruling.

Thanks I suspected that they might be a bit weighty! I may give it a try when we go off to Norway next year!

Great Work. I was originally going to go for that one but I needed four cans on the back and wanted a n easier method of folding them down.

Does it rattle around much in the hitch when off road or on corrugations ? I put lights on mine and just plug em into the trailer hitch.

You could also get a water bladder for under the deck That would make best use of the room and keep the weight nice and low.

It was a bit wobbly at first so I installed a set screw through the corner of the hitch receiver (see photo original post) There is still some movement and I reckon by its nature you won't get all the movement out. As for off-road performance? Let's just say we're still in the testing stage. In other words I haven't been off-road with it yet.
