OK computer genius's's''sssss'ssss

My scan guage picked up this code, and it can't clear it.

Any one know what it means in english?

1389 No Z1 or Z2 voltage seen by the computer when the auto shutdown relay is used.

The 13xx codes are Manufacturer (Chrysler) Controlled Ignition System or Misfire codes. Suggest perhaps a look at the TJ wiring diagram from the Service Manual will show the Auto Shutdown Relay.

That code means that when the computer switches on the output to the ASD relay coil it is not seeing the output for the relay contacts. Your relay could be bad - try swapping it for another. Or, It might be as simple as a blown fuse. The fuse that powers the coil of the ASD relay is in the internal fuse panel and should be labelled PDC coils, or something similar. The fuse that supplies power to the ASD relay switched contacts is in the under hood PDC. Fuse 6 (30 Amp) in my 97.
