Hi All,
Recently picked up a Nov08 JK which was sold as an 09 model, same situation as yours I think. Got a bit off but could not get the 2008 You Can Do It deal. Car was right spec for me though and did not have to wait until mid November.

Good luck with your decision & purchase.

Well that's a different scenario to your original statement and now I would agree, an ex-demo with k's on the clock is something I would definitely want to pay less for.

An 08 plate will be less value at trade in time than an 09 too. Which is why i would want a big discount. You have to beat them at their own game there is no way i would pay the same dollars for an 08 plate as i would for an 09, cause they won't if decide to trade it.
I'd be looking for a different dealer if they were trying the build date game with me come trade time.
I have to admit that trade in value is not something I am concerned with when I am looking to buy a vehicle.

I have just got a 2009 JK Unlimited Rubicon in July 2009 that was built in Feb 2008!

That's got to be pushing it a bit don't you think?

I asked the local dealer's parts guys (not where I bought it) and they said that sort of gap is acceptable, but if I wanted parts I need to tell them I want parts for a 2008.

In the end I don't care. I bought new, and will be keeping this Jeep for so long that when I come to sell, 08 versus 09 isn't going to matter to the final sale price.

Yeah have a good look , you might get a slightly earlier JK with hardtop as well and other goodies for the same money. Not too many features other than the tyre warning system I think as a difference in models.
