2.25" and straight through is the first mod I ever did (circa 2000), like Thomo I wanted mine to sound like a Jeep not a car. I have since then added the Extracters etc. (as the pre 2001 exhaust manifolds are crap, they nearly all crack at the Y ) but I have stuck with 2.25" not 2.5" as I like a little more back pressure for going down the hills (its better, supposedly???)

For those QLDers interested in choppin off their pipes directly after the Muffler, think about this!!!

From the QLD TPT site on Vehicle Mods.

The exhaust outlet must extend at least 40mm beyond furthermost outboard or rearmost joint of the floor pan which is not continuously welded or permanently sealed which could permit direct access of exhaust gases to the passenger compartment, but not beyond the perimeter of the vehicle when viewed in plan.

The exhaust outlet, if to the rear of the vehicle, must discharge at not more than 10 degrees above or 45 degrees below the horizontal.

No-where near as much as a hyundai ricer.

At some revs yes, but usually you need to change gears anyway. The best part is when you're in 1st or 2nd gear crawling/idling around the shopping centre carpark and the exhaust is going GLUG GLUG GLUG like a suped-up WRX and then you floor it and let off the gas and the back pressure ABSOLUTELY SCREAMS and everyone (particularly the pretty blonde thing) looks. It's way cool

It's also it's best at smack on 60klm/h because in third gear it just growls like you wouldn't believe. And hotted up cars always pull alongside wanting to drag... and when you're going through the high school zone at 40klm in second gear well, umm... oh yeah
