Yeah, the muddy fits the profile but I'm worried I'll just dig holes if I hit anything sandy..... Suppose I'll see how much beach driving I'll be doing as I live 3 hours from it... Well the jeep handles a lot better on the dirt then the trail I had so through the nowdoc dirt road to Taree probably 2.5 hours

A condition of my insurance is that its roadworthy in QLD. Any "illegal" modification means it's technically unroadworthy and therefore no insurance.

So in other words, even a 2 inch suspension lift is going to land you with an unroadworthy car in QLD? guess that also rule out putting 33's on it!

Technically?? Yup and Yup

Have heard of a few getting pinged for 35's by the fun police, but never for 33's, and havent 'yet' heard of anyone getting done for 2 to 3 inches of lift on a JK, but to the letter of the QLD laws, 32in tyres and ~30mm lift (when fully loaded) is the limit without engineering.

For the record, the 50mm 'Mopar' (Lovells) coils supplied by Jeep Australia lifted my stock lightweight 2 door petrol by 67mm front and 63mm rear. The 4 door CRD on the otherhand is closer to 50mm when first installed but from several accounts was dropping over a year or two back to almost stock height with bars etc.

Why not Tassie Jeeper? That's like saying that a stubby bar which may be legal in other states, would be okay if you were driving on a holiday in Qld. Experience would say that you would quickly get a defect ticket in Qld. Even more so, cause the police would know that it would not be worth your effort to come back to defend it in 6 months time.
