Anything other than that I couldnt tell the difference between the $850 Kemppi and the $420 MMA 170.

My next purchase is going to be the MMA 170 + a plasma cutter (hopefully)
Tht's good to know. I already have a good mig and an older arc welder, but would like an inverter welder as well.

Mate if you get yourself a little inverter welder you will never use the old arc again, they are so good you will wonder why you never bought one before now.

we have the same type of welder different brand though, (weldsmart) works great, the first one was a dud for some reason but since then we have made rocksliders, front bumper and are now making a rear bar and carrier, havent had much experience with other welder apart from a $60 cheapy from super cheap and the old ones at school, but ours is so much quieter than both others one, lot smoother to use as well, can post pics if anyone is interested, of the bars ect....

Also thinking about buying a inverter arc welder with the tig fitting. Has anybody had experience with the small disposable argon bottles that can be bought from Repco. How long do they last. I dont have much use for tig but dont like the idea of having the rent a bottle.
