I'm at around 4.5" of lift as it sits with 285 75 16" Toyo MT's. I quite like that size tire cause it gives you a bit taller than 33" but only 11.5" wide so I can flex my rig almost inside out and they don't rub anywhere! I've put a friends 35x12.5 goodyear mtr's on the front to see how they would go but at full stuff and partial lock they rubbed on the inner fender hump where the battery sits. You could drop your rear with that extra hole in your shackle which would help level it plus a small spacer in the front? Don't forget that 8.8 will give you another 1/2" lift too!

Its a slow road on this build. But I did get the rear flares installed. So all 4 on now. Plenty of room in the wheel arches. I changed the gearbox mount. About to put longer brake lines in.
I pick up my tyres next week. 33" Goodyear mtr/k
Also have to get the exhaust modified. Drivers side long arm is hitting the exhaust when travelling up. Cant seem to find any other jeepers with this problem. So I dont know why mine is different. Anyway this gets fixed next weekend.
I will post up pics today.

Mate I totally understand! Nice choice of tire my mate runs them and loves them! Bummer about the exhaust issue, mine has heaps of clearance on my arms but the grease nipple on my rear tail shaft slip joint has peeled my muffler open! Turns out it hits on full drivers side tuck. Maybe keep that in mind when you get yours done.

Small update.
Got exhaust modified so longarm does not contact it anymore.
And picked up tyres. You can actually fit 4 33" tyres in the back of an xj.
I was originally going with 33" mtr/k's. But my mate that was getting them cheap for me left his job. And I just wasnt going to pay full price for them. So I went the cheap route for now.
33" maxxis bighorns. And I know that they are only 2 ply blah blah blah. But they will do for now, as later I may go bigger anyway.

Pics of tyres on car coming. Now I need to get my ass into gear and build my ford diff.
