Just thinking aloud here but

Is there any real lawyers on here (not Kangaroo court lawyers) How far does the law around slander go. I feel this is a personal insult to say becuase I drive a 4x4 with a lift I am a hoon. I have over 20years driving with only 1 traffic infrigment and no convictions. How does that qualify to be a hoon ?

Is there a real case to answer here in this ?
Do you have to be personally named to be slander or can it be infered by being associated to a group of people ?

Default legal definition of slander

A type of defamation. Slander is an untruthful oral (spoken) statement about a person that harms the person's reputation or standing in the community. Because slander is a tort (a civil wrong), the injured person can bring a lawsuit against the person who made the false statement. If the statement is made via broadcast media -- for example, over the radio or on TV -- it is considered libel, rather than slander, because the statement has the potential to reach a very wide audience.

Default legal definition of libel

An untruthful statement about a person, published in writing or through broadcast media, that injures the person's reputation or standing in the community. Because libel is a tort (a civil wrong), the injured person can bring a lawsuit against the person who made the false statement. Libel is a form of defamation , as is slander (an untruthful statement that is spoken, but not published in writing or broadcast through the media).

Have been talking to Lawyers - I think there is a fair basis for a Class Action.
At this stage I have given them a range of details and they are going go off and check a few things - Should hear from them by the end of the day.

the post by TJMAD is useful to understand what is happening more broadly, and how we can each get involved in fighting for the case. A structured letter goes a long way to bring the broader public and the pollies into the debate - sitting back achieves nothing.

If we all work as a collective, we can prevent this change and ensure a more collaborative approach is taken with the key 4WD bodies before future changes are announced.

I'm off to write some letters....

Answer is tricky but it should be a no. Qld regs are pretty much those anyway. 50mm lift 15mm on tyre diameter that's how it stands at the moment from what i see. I was really hoping that the nationwide regs were going to take place and allow us up to at least fit bigger tyres to match the other states, alas however it seems it has gone the other way with coming down to match our regs
