So many great drives in and around Neerim - I’m missing the easy access to tracks/trails in Victoria now that I’m back in sunny Qld.
I had the Service 4wd light come on a few times BUT I was always able to get in to low range again after turning off the engine for a minute or two restarting then try low range again.

The mighty WH always got me home despite the “Service 4wd light” and JEEP electrics having their own personality!

However for insurance - I did start carrying around the bluetooth “Bluedriver” OBDII port scanner that lets me cancel any codes relating to ABS sensors etc… that can cause the “Service 4wd light”.

Cheers greenjk yeah that was me! Working on some of the local creeks around the area hit me up if your keen for a drive one day.

Thanks bluedriver, I actually had one of those obd2 WiFi scanners in but it wouldn't pick up any details of the error! I have had wheel speed sensors in the past so maybe it related? Need to invest in a better scanner too I think, just need to find one that works for the 4.7, most details seem to be on scanners for the diesel.
Needless to say I made it down the aptly named rocky track (double black dimond) without low range, even impressed myself what the WH is capable of with the right setup and no low range.

I can recommend the Bluedriver OBDII scanner from Lemur motors (Canadian) a lot of forum members have one and it gets very good reviews (available directly or ebay or amazon). Not as cheap as a generic ebay one but it’s backed by the developers (Lemur). Website says it supports the 4.7L engine…
