Took it to Camp Coffs, first trip it started breaking down. Got it back to camp no dramas. Second trip it was breaking down badly. Limped back to camp to find bad fuel. Lots of water found its way into the tank.
Hey bruggz !
You best get a better locking fuel cap & make sure that carbon canister thing is not full of water.

One way I have checked fuel pressure is to buy a cheap tire pressure gauge, and depending on the size of the outlet on your rail to just scrape the hole on the gauge a little larger, then press it on very quickly and this will give you an indication of fuel rail pressure, obviously you can't do that whilst driving... $15 rather then $50+ and how many times will you need it after?

My Dorman 34237 bypass pulley arrived this morning, well I wasnt that surprised when it didnt line up.... the US a/c compressors must be really strange, the holes aren't square or anything. I'm gonna try finding a different way of mounting it so atleast money isn't wasted.

Dropped mine off for the fitting of new ratios and a front locker. Also took delivery of a Wooders panhard bracket and new fan clutch.

Well, I got it home.
Blew out the fuel lines and filter, poured in a bottle of fuel re-conditioner and went for it.

Made it 100klm before the first hiccup and as we passed the speed limit signs into Casino she played up old harry..

Gunna drain whats left of the fuel, 1/2 a tank, and put fresh in with some more conditioner and new filter..

Still, we had a ball at Coffs and couldn't really care less the XJ got crook.

If you are going to drain the tank. Once you have all the petrol out, rinse it with say 5 ltrs of metho, that will take the water out. You can only use the metho for this if the petrol has been drained. Once you have rinsed with metho, you can refill with petrol. Any metho with water in it will mix with the petrol.
Its an old trick, have used it many times & it works.
Dont bother putting metho in the tank if it still has petrol in it as it wont disolve the water. It will mix with the petrol only.

Have you worked out how the water got in?

Good luck !!
