Mac, was that once for sale in Lithgow? I think I remember seeing it on Ebay, and wishing I bought it... Good to see it's still kickin' around if that's the same one.

How's rebuilding the front hubs Buell? Coincidentally, I need to rebuild mine. I've got full floaters on the rear, and they started creaking today.

Hey Mac
I remeber seeing a cj5 with a ford motor in it sitting under a gum tree, but it was about 20 years ago, and is about 4 hours from you.
Pm me and I can give you the location. Possibly still there.
I keep trying to work out a way to get out there and see, but Brisbane is just a bit too far away.

Buell

I thought someone might be interested in seeing a strange looking Dana 44. It's a full floating diff with one piece axles; I believe the axles are out of an early rear Dana 27. I think it's running Dana 27 hubs, but one of them is not Jeep issue so I'm not sure what it came with.

I've attached a pic of the spindle and the axle tubing. As far as I can tell, the spindle is fixed to the axle tubing, with no obvious weld line. The axle tubing and the top of the differential housing has been reinforced. You can see the weld lines in the second image - it's quite a significant increase in wall thickness!

I have no idea if it's a factory or custom mod, but it's neat and it seems to work just fine. Has anyone seen anything similar?

Yeah I know, it's on the list. I only had one jack and I needed it for the other jeep. But I'll take you up on that, I didn't actually know they made stands like that! Thanks mate.
