Well i think its now ilegal in vic too, the thing everyones holding on to is As vic has a yes policy on the removal of doors and has it in clear writing http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/...dsInformation/
It clearly states in Q11 on page 3 of VSI 20

that now seems to have been withdrawn, and i can not longer find it or any other suporting doucments to there web site,

Gents...

It's not about how many vehicles you see without doors driving around in NT, VIC, QLD, or WA. it may just be that it's ignored. I was hunting in SW Qld a while back and got pulled over. I was driving doorless on the highway traveling between the camp site and the property that I was hunting on. The cop said "this doesn't look very legal". I just said that the instruction manual show how to remove them so it must be legal. He went on to check the guns (storage and such) then did a RBT and sent me on my way. Another mate of mine drive doorless all the time in town and around SE Qld. Again cops never pull him over. On the other hand, you are NOT insured while driving doorless.

As long as Chrysler and/or Jeep Australia don't endorse doorless driving on road it will never be legal. Jeep will never give us that because they would open themselves to liability. If they say yes and you get hurt as a result they could be liable. For them to make it legal in their own right they would have to submit a jeep for crash testing without doors. That will never happen. Read online on the US and Australian Jeep websites and the brochures, they all say doorless is for off road only.
