Reading his thread is unnerving. I have just bought myself a stock 2011 jku and have been saving to purchase a front bar. I like the look of the arb and the aev bars but because here in SA the closest 4wd outlet is an arb I was going to go and buy from their Elizabeth store (it's the closest to me). I hope I don't get the same treatment as some of the guys on here. Especially as I've seen a Suzuki grand vitara parked out the front of the store everyday decked out in arb gear so can only assume that someone who works there owns it. (Re the rude remarks about jeeps I don't see a grand vitara as a true 4wd more of a soccer mums car)

Hi VooDoo2,

I have looked into this for you and, depending on the exact part number of the LTRs for your CJ, these should be rebuildable and have parts available.

If you PM me some more information including the part number and your contact number I will follow up for you.

Cheers,
Cass

They were for a GQ Nissan Patrol (eye to eye) but measured they suited my requirements perfectly with a 2.5" lift in the CJ. These were originally on the ARB race car (Patrol) before they went to coilovers but only saw a single race. 3 of the 4 are still perfect, 1 has a blown seal.

ARB dont make any parts for a CJ but a very popular upgrade is to use the YJ springs in the CJ. I have found another company that can put in a seal kit and have dropped the shocks to them.

Just to clarify, i am not upset with the staff in any way and have received good service from them every time ive been in. The pricing of goods vs the USA does annoy me but that isnt a staff issue nor the fact they dont rebuild the shocks. From what i understand the person that used to do that job no longer works for the company.

Give em a go first. Definitely worth a try and to be honest I think it comes down to the attitude of the sales guy on site, which is the same as any business really. You might find they like Jeeps!

Hi Voodoo2,

That is great to hear that you were able to source the parts necessary from another supplier, but unfortunate that you were misinformed by our staff at the time. The Coopers Plains staff have been reminded that most LTRs are rebuildable to try and avoid this situation in the future.

We appreciate all your positive comments.

Cheers,
Cass
