Default Steel wheels for a JK

I have 2012 and the rotors and calipers are bigger so 16's will not fit apparently

Need a minimum of 3.75" back spacing to run 16's on a late 2008 onwards. So it's not ideal for most people.

My '08 still has the smaller front rotors.

Have a look at the gap between the outside of the caliper & the rim. You need to have more than 13mm clearance if you want to go down to 16" wheels as you will lose 1/2" from the radius of the rim.
