A bit of swing or possible over or understeer doesn't mean they are bad, just that with a different construction and tread it can take a bit before you become accustomed to their particular handling, often the tyre isn't "wearing in" its the steerer becoming worn in...deep tread patterns will move more than shallower treads........... going from a 60 to a 70 profile will feel like wandering where its just more movement in the sidewall, each type of tyre will have a different attitude and performance, thats why I always advise unless you are doing 90% dirt/mud stay away from very chunky, they really are a crap performance tyre on good road surfaces including dirt and shouldn't be on trailers no matter how cool they look.

The BFG KO2's can perform well off the road and are available in that size.

Drover, I think that you misunderstood what I said, there wasn't any over or under steer and the tyre profile is the same, it is a bit like going into a corner with under inflated tyres. You could literally see the car lean over more into the corner. The tyre pressure are the same but the ride into corners is as usual now and the dash is pretty flat level when doing so.
So I am assuming it was the side walls that was flexing more, which in itself is strange as these tyres are the LT type with beefier sidewalls so they should not flex as much as the previous ones.
Also it isn't that I am getting used to it as it is visibly more level now. I will put it down to that, just curious why it took several thousand Km's to get to a normal ride. Only other thing may be the automatic air bag suspension as I know that it adjusts up and down front and back but wasn't aware if it did it sideways as well, could be a learning mode in the setup and needed some time to adjust.

At least these are available in the LT construction in my size which my previous RF10's weren't and the only RF10's that were LT's were 286/60R18, which meant they wouldn't fit in the wheel well, so I went with these ones. Paid $320/tyres fitted and balanced at Grand Prix Mazda in Caboolture as they are a Maxxis dealer, after I got home I paid the $20 extra to get the Maxcoverage Insurance direct from Maxxis.
Only done a couple of thousand Km's on them so far (all on the bitumen, wet and dry) but overall I am quite happy with them. It took a while for them to settle in though. When I first drove on them, the car would lean into the corners much more which was a bit off putting and the road bumps were much more noticeable (40PSI). They also produced more road noise (7/10) than the RF10's made, and I started to question my choice of tyres.
However now that I have done a couple of thousands Km's, the car has lost the corner lean, the bumps aren't as pronounced and road noise has quietened down too (9/10). Fuel consumption doesn't seem to have increased either.
Never had tyres that needed to have a break in period!
So as I said before, quite happy with them now.
Cheers
Ed.

I will be due for some new tyres soon and it is a toss up between these and Falken Wildpeaks. Keep us updated as you get more k’s on them.

I only use the tyre placard pressures as a starting point tough, on my JGC the advised 33psi gives a flat tyre peformance and I run 36 to 38 mostly ...........
I suppose @Ed its just the difference in construction and compound that gave it the funny feel............ I will have to replace my Geolanders at the end of this year for sure, they haven't been the success that they were on my other Grands, no LT available in 18's and while they are a great tyre for solo running and towing they just wear far to quickly while towing, I think I will manage just over 50K with them if lucky as we drag our van around a lot..... may go for Bridgie Dueller 697 LT's this time, the Wildpeaks and Maxxis I found didn't last long towing..
