I did, Daz mention I should use my original cover but an article I found online mentioned that the cover from the 0630 head "doesn't retro back" which got me a little confused.

To my knowledge they aren't interchangable, at leats the 7120 head uses the alloy rocker cover which (if you can get it to seal properly, mine always did) will dissipate heat better than the pressed metal unit on the 0630 head...

Ok thanks, think I will stick with the 7120 cover then. I'm also assuming I'll need a gasket to suit that cover? VRS kit I have is for a 98 - I'll check it tonight to see if it lines up.

Well, after sitting on my driveway for about 3 weeks, the XJ started and ran for a few seconds and then died and would not fire. I thought it might have been out of fuel, so topped that up, and it fired again, but then died for good this time. I ran the OBD check and got 12 and 11 then 55 so narrowed it down to the CPS. I checked the connection and cleaned up the plug with some CRC spray, and voila, she runs perfectly. Ran great all week and on the journey out past Canungra to the Cable Camp Park track near Logan Village, and then started cutting out on the entrance track.

I decided I'd save myself some drama when we got further up into the hills, and turned around to head home, but only made it about 500m back down the track before the CPS died again. I figured it was a heat and vibration/bumps issue so I locked it up and waited for a friend in a pajero arriving late to pick me up and on we went to catch up to the rest of our group.

We got back to the Jeep later in the day to have a go at starting it and she ran, and got me to within about a km of the main sealed road, and started playing up again. So RACQ was called, and the Jeep now sits at the top of Mt Tamborine at the towie's workshop waiting on the friendly towie to pull out the sensor for me to check the part number.

Should've just swapped out the sensor when I had it at home..........

Picked mine up from the workshop with its front Detroit fitted and 4.11 gears, took it easy on the drive home but could feel the difference for sure. Now its time for 32s!

Nice one mtd. I'm still working on mine.
Primed and spray painted the rear bar myself and just finished installing the rear lights.
Now waiting on my number plate lights.
