Do the bushes in these arms have slots cut in them so you can see through them, if they do that would be the difference in NVH...

Yeah they do. they are also the big oval bushes on the one end, rather than the little round ones.

That'll make a difference, are they the same length centre to centre?

Yes they are.
there is a trick with the Wj LCA's. If you get the front lower ones, they are the same length. If you get the rear lower ones, they are longer.
They are a full tube rather than a "u" channel. I don't know if that helps as well.
They also have the bend in them which helps to clear bigger tyres without rubbing at full lock.
There is a write up on it on Go-Jeeps website.

How did you go with the extra width of the bushes?

not today ,monday.
Replaced rear gas struts $40 or so dollars, (thx rockauto)
front sway bar bushes.
fixed UHF radio - cracked fuseholder when installed first time! (now 80 channels of vocal rubbish instead of 40!).
added second schrader valve to rear air shock setup. excessive sway gone.
attempted to mount buick air shocks to front successfully made it work only to find out that it has incorrect air fittings! Darn!
