This is great. I might have to do this in the next few weeks (perfect Christmas gift for free - major brownie points).

Guys,

I just did this mod in 45mins and it worked a treat. I now have 35m of range out of my remote (way more than I need). It was simple and cost nothing. I highly recommend!

its good when a simple mod actualy works, and the best part is it costs nothing except a little time. the best part though is now having a remote that finaly works. good to hear others are finding this solution to useless remotes.

Hey guys,

Awesome thread, this is my first post and I'd just like to say good on you for figuring this one out. I'm gonna do the mod to but I cant see the pics??? they all come up broken except for the photobucket links. Any ideas?

I have 2002 v8 Grand, and love it (except for the keyless entry).

So JarradB - The CRD setup is the same... no trouble find the RC module in the passengers side door etc?

Cheers

Nope, no problems.

In the Bulgarian forum post, it mentions that you may or may not need to remove the black plastic tabs on the antenna PCB. In my case (2003 CRD), I did have to remove the tabs and did so by melting them with my soldering iron. I then used some araldite and a layer of thin foam to hold the board back in place when finished and insulate it from the other PCB it backs onto. I used a 52cm length of single core (multi strand) telephone cable and taped the entire length of it to the door skin.
