This thread has been a very good and informative read!
The debate that is raging reminds me of when I first discovered AJOR about 4 - 5 years ago. Back then it was a whole thing about TJ owners having lots of things to say about the JK's and their owners. It is all a little lame and really, who cares?
Personally, I would take a Rubi over a Sahara, but I certainly wouldn't be complaining if my only choice was a Sahara. It is still a Jeep JK!
I think Aikhme is correct in implying that the Australian Jeep owners are not use to this model as of yet. Many users on the US Jeep forums are Sahara owners. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised that the Sahara ownership number in the US is as high as the Rubi ownership. I am not sure why this is, but there obviously is something that people are attracted to in this model.
It is each to their own when it comes to buying a vehicle. Everyone has some kind of unique quirk or reason that draws them to a particular vehicle. Do I really care? Well as long as it is a JK and not the girly TJ (
), nope! It is their money and their choice.
